Kids Count Launch Party
The bash - which was sponsored by Residence 6 - saw local business people and celebrities pledge their support to the charity.
We rely on the generosity of the local community to help benefit the thousands of children in our region who require charitable support. Our first goal - which is to raise £15,000 to buy a new holiday home for Candlelighters at Primrose Valley near Filey. Alexis Thompson, Regional Managing Director of Yorkshire Emap Radio and Kids Count Trustee, spoke to guests about how the charity can improve the quality of children's lives across the region.
Alexis said "All funds raised by Kids Count stay in West Yorkshire, we are hoping that businesses and individuals all over this region will support Kids Count to raise thousands of pounds to help our most vulnerable children."
A raffle - with prizes donated by Residence 6, Harratts Volvo, Hilton Hotel, Malmaison, Fiori, writer Mel Dyke, West Row and the Flower Shop - held during the evening and drawn by the Simon Logan Breakfast Show presenters raised over £600.
