ASDA Persil Donation Makes Kids Count Happy
Monday 12th November 2007
Mr Happy has been part of a series of events in the Leeds community this month, run by Persil including local ASDA stores and St James’s Hospital! Visiting the hospital on Friday, Mr Happy delivered goody-bags to the children, and even stopped off for a few smiling photos!
Tracey, Play-leader at St James’s Hospital said ‘It really makes a difference when we can entertain the children; Mr. Happy brought smiles across the wards!”
To help further both Persil and ASDA together raised a fantastic £1,263 this week which will be donated to the Kids Count Trust, a Leeds charity dedicated to supporting local children who are sick, disabled or underprivileged. Ros Raine, Charity Manager for the Kids Count Trust said, “The fundraising Persil and ASDA have been doing this week is amazing and will make a real difference to the lives of local children, we wanted to say a massive 'THANKYOU' for thinking of Kids Count to receive the Persil ASDA donation!”
The money, collected by Persil and ASDA will go towards the charity’s first project is to buy a holiday home at Primrose Valley so that children being treated at St James' hospital for cancer or leukemia can have a holiday with their families.
